Please assist us in our safety efforts for your children. Parents and guardians will not be permitted to walk students to classrooms. If you are planning to drop off and pick up your child, parents/guardians may choose one of the following:
Line up in the vehicle line along Beaver Street. As you approach the school entrance, a York Academy employee will acknowledge your child’s arrival and assist your child in entering the student entrance. Please be patient while waiting and when driving in and out of line. Please refrain from pulling out of line until the vehicle in front of you has departed. Allow additional time during the first few weeks of each school year as we work through new routines.
Park in the parking lot along North Street, carefully cross at the North Street/Beaver Street corner, and walk your child to the student entrance on Beaver Street. Please wait for a York Academy employee to acknowledge your child’s arrival. When needing to bring your child after 8:00 AM, or picking your child up before 3:30 PM, please use the front entrance for proper signing in and out procedures. To pick up your child after school, please park in the lot along North Street, walk across the street to the Beaver Street entrance and your child will exit through that door.
Please be in contact with your home district’s department of transportation for opportunities to use district transportation to and from school. The York Academy will not be providing transportation; therefore it is imperative that you discuss your child’s transportation needs with your home district. Children are not permitted to enter school before 7:45 AM, unless they are enrolled in our Before School Care Program through the JCC. If your child is participating in the breakfast program, he/she will report directly to the cafeteria at that time.
